1. SoCo Ice Cream Tops At Double Rainbow
While rain dampened part of Memorial Day weekend, ice cream sales were still high at the Double Rainbow Shop in Quogue - a sign, the owner says, of the season to come.
2. Say Goodbye To The Village Gazebo
At its last meeting, Westhampton Beach Village officials decided to demolish the gazebo at the village marina.
The gazebo, which is wrapped in police caution tape, was badly damaged during Superstorm Sandy along with other amenities at the marina.
3. Quogue Has A New Flag
Flying alongside the American flag and the official Village of Quogue flag at the village dock is a new Quogue flag designed by the Quogue Association.
4. Clint Greenbaum Makes Life's Mission to Pay ‘Miracle’
Since Clint Greenbaum'sSeats of Dreams program kicked off last spring, approximately 1600 tickets have been donated — plus about 750 tickets this season — bringing the total to just over 2,300 tickets, with a face value of over $66,000.
5. Principal: Unlikely East Quogue School Will Pierce Cap Again
A week after East Quogue voters failed to approve a cap-busting, $23 million budget by seven votes, East Quogue School District officials are working on a new budget proposal that Principal Robert Long, said will "unlikely pierce the tax cap."
