Westhampton Beach Man Arrested After Hit-And-Run Crash

Two men fled on foot after their BMW crashed into two other cars Sunday. Police say they found two loaded handguns in the BMW.

NORTH BELLPORT, NY – Two men was arrested after a hit-and-run crash near Sunrise Highway Sunday evening, Suffolk Police said.

According to police, 27-year-old Pierre Grace was driving a 2015 BMW 535i on Station Road, just north of Sunrise Highway, when he crashed the car into two other vehicles and then fled on foot with his sole passenger, Rakeem Holland, at about 5:18 p.m.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found two loaded handguns in the BMW, police said. One of the handguns was previously reported stolen. Following a foot pursuit, both men were apprehended. The two men were transported to Long Island Community Hospital in East Patchogue where they received medical treatment and were released.

Grace, of Westhampton Beach, and Holland, 27, of Bellport, were arrested and each charged with two counts of criminal possession of a weapon and one count criminal possession of stolen property. They were being held overnight at the Fifth Precinct and are scheduled to be arraigned Monday morning at First District Court in Central Islip. The investigation is continuing.
