Disturbing Video Shows Baby 'Slammed' By Nurse At LI Hospital: Report

WEST ISLIP, NY — A disturbing video appears to show a newborn baby roughly handled by a registered nurse at Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip.

The footage, obtained by News12, reportedly shows the baby — who was in the neonatal intensive care unit — picked up, flipped around and then slammed back down onto the bassinet.

The video was filmed by the baby's father, according to the report.

Catholic Health Services said an investigation was conducted and the nurse involved was fired. The nurse was also reported to the state Department of Health for further review.

"Upon learning of this incident, swift and immediate action was taken, including conducting an investigation and consequently terminating the individual involved," a Catholic Health spokesperson said in a statment to Patch. "Additionally, we reported the individual to the Department of Health for further review. Keeping our patients safe remains our paramount concern.”
