McShane's Insane Jeopardy! Run Comes to an End

Incorrect Final Jeopardy! answer costs Dan his fifth title.

If only had read more books written by Nobel Prize winning female authors...  

That's the topic that ultimately ended his magical four-game "Jeopardy!" winning streak, but not before cashing in on a total of $64,001.  

Heading into "Final Jeopardy!" Mcshane seemed poised to take home another crown.  He had $18,800, a $5,800 lead over his closest opponent, Stephanie Walker, and $7,200 advantage over Brandon Libby.

But with Libby answering the question ("1 of the 2 American women authors nominated for the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1938") correctly and Dan providing a wrong answer, it was curtains.  

Still, not bad for a 24-year-old from West Islip and . He said during the show that the $62,001 (his four-day winnings) was the most money he's ever earned in his young career.
