The National Weather Service has issued a special weather statement for Long Island.

LONG ISLAND — The National Weather Service issued a special weather statement for Long Island Friday morning.
In the special weather statement, the weather service wrote: "Widespread fog has reduced visibilities below a mile across Long Island and the Connecticut coast, with locally dense fog reducing visibilities to 1/4 mile. If traveling use caution. Allow for extra room between you and the vehicle in front of you and use fog lights if available."

Today- A slight chance of drizzle or light rain before 2pm, then a slight chance of showers after 2pm. Areas of fog before 11am. Otherwise, cloudy, with a high near 68. East wind 6 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
Tonight- A slight chance of showers before 8pm, then a slight chance of showers after 11pm. Areas of fog. Otherwise, cloudy, with a low around 57. Southeast wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Saturday- A 40 percent chance of showers, mainly after 2pm. Cloudy, with a high near 71. South wind 3 to 8 mph.
Saturday Night- A 40 percent chance of showers. Cloudy, with a low around 57. South wind 5 to 7 mph becoming calm after midnight.
Sunday- A 20 percent chance of showers. Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 71. South wind 6 to 10 mph.
Sunday Night- Mostly cloudy, with a low around 56.
Monday- A 50 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 74.
Monday Night- A 30 percent chance of showers before 2am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 56.
Tuesday- Sunny, with a high near 70.
