Foster a Kitten — and Get Her Blessed — in Windsor Terrace
Sean Casey Animal Rescue needs kitten foster parents, and The Church of the Holy Apostles will meet their spiritual needs.

WINDSOR TERRACE, BROOKLYN — If you're looking for a Windsor Terrace experience that is both spiritual and adorable, you're in luck.
Sean Casey Animal Rescue is in need of foster parents for its littlest kittens, a staffer explained to Patch — those under eight weeks old who are too young to be adopted.
The kittens just need a little time, care and socialization until they're ready for a permanent home. It doesn't cost anything to be a foster parent, the staffer explained, and the shelter covers any related medical expenses and provides support.

If you decide that you'd like to keep the kitten you've fostered, or adopt another, Sean Casey is ready for that, too. Adoption costs $125, and comes with spaying or neutering, de-worming, shots, tests for feline AIDS and leukemia, a free check-up at a vet, and a month of pet health insurance.

If if you'd like to take pet ownership to a higher plane, The Church of the Holy Apostles, located at 612 Greenwood Ave., will be hosting a St. Francis Day Pet Blessing on Oct. 2 at 4 p.m.
The event will take place outside the church, Rev. Sarah Kooperkamp told Patch, unless its raining, in which case it will take place inside.
Kooperkamp said that about 50 pets typically show up for the annual event, which features opening prayers, a remembrance of pets that have passed away, awards for the oldest and youngest pets, a few unplanned scuffles between dogs and cats, and blessings for each pet present.
"We welcome all pets, regardless of their own religious affiliation," Kooperkamp added with a laugh.
