Assault With Sword In Yorktown: Police

Police said a Yorktown Heights man stabbed another person with a large sword during a domestic dispute.

YORKTOWN, NY — A Yorktown man was accused of assaulting another person with a sword.

The Yorktown Police Department said a detective was sent around 2 p.m. Saturday to the hospital to speak with a person who received cuts from a sword during a domestic dispute at a Yorktown residence.

Police said Dominquel Washington, 31, of Yorktown Heights, stabbed and cut the victim with a large sword, causing multiple lacerations after a verbal dispute.

Washington then left the scene in a car, which was later determined to be traveling in Peekskill.

The City of Peekskill Police Department was able to locate the car with Washington as a passenger, police said.

He was turned over to the Yorktown police and taken to headquarters for arrest processing.

Washington was arraigned in the Yorktown Justice Court, where a judge issued an order of protection on behalf of the victim.

He was held on $250,000 bail and taken to the Westchester County Jail.

Washington is due back in court Tuesday.
