Bronx Man Accused Of Burglary, Assault In Somers

When police investigated a domestic dispute, they said they found a man with a gunshot wound to the arm and someone with blunt force trauma.

SOMERS, NY — A New York City man was accused of breaking into someone’s home and choking them.

The New York State Police said, on June 13, troopers were sent to a home in the town of Somers for a domestic dispute involving a gun.

Police said they found a one man suffering from a gunshot wound to the arm and a resident of the home suffering from blunt force trauma to the head caused by a metal pipe.

Both were taken to Westchester Medical Center for treatment of injuries not considered to be life-threatening. They were both later released.

Authorities said the investigation found that Raymond Laudo, 66, of Bronx, forcibly entered the home and violently assaulted the victim. The victim then fired one round from a .22 caliber rifle in self-defense.

Laudo was arrested Wednesday and charged with first-degree burglary, second-degree assault and second-degree strangulation, felonies, and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon and second-degree menacing, misdemeanors.

He was arraigned in the Town of Somers Court and released on $25,000 bail.

Laudo is scheduled to reappear in court July 17.

The state police were assisted by the Town of Somers Police and Town of North Salem Police.
