Bronx Woman Found Asleep, Drunk In Car In Yorktown: Police

Authorities said she also had an open container of alcohol in her car.

YORKTOWN, NY — A Bronx resident was accused of drunken driving after being found passed out in a car in Yorktown.

The Yorktown Police Department said Jamie M. Otero, 30, of the Bronx, was arrested Wednesday and charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, blood alcohol content of 0.18 percent or more, first offense, and driving while intoxicated, first offense, misdemeanors, and open container and fail to use designated lane, traffic infractions.

Shortly after 2 a.m. Wednesday, police said an officer was sent to 1290 East Main St. for a case involving a woman who was unresponsive but still breathing.

Police said Otero was found in the driver’s seat of a car that had been involved in an accident and was off the roadway.

She had been driving while intoxicated and had an open container of alcohol in the car, police said.

Otero was arrested and taken to the Yorktown Police Department for processing.

After further investigation, it was determined she was driving the car with a blood alcohol content of 0.18 percent or more.

Otero was issued uniform traffic tickets and released on her own recognizance to a responsible third party. She is due to appear in Yorktown Justice Court Oct. 10.
