Carmel Man Accused Of Skipping Yorktown Court Appearance
Among the original charges the man faced were criminal mischief, obstructing government administration and aggravated harassment.
YORKTOWN, NY — A Carmel man was accused of not showing up for a court appearance in Yorktown.
The Yorktown Police Department said Daniel O’Connor, 44, of Carmel, was charged Friday with third-degree bail jumping, a misdemeanor.
Police said O’Connor had originally been charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief, second-degree obstructing government administration and second-degree aggravated harassment, all misdemeanors, and second-degree harassment, a violation.

According to law enforcement, on Nov. 22, O’Connor failed to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court for a scheduled court appearance regarding the original charges.
A bench warrant was issued. Police said he failed to appear in court within 30 days after that.

On Thursday, O’Connor surrendered himself at the Yorktown Police Department and was arrested.
The bench warrant was executed and arrest processing was completed.
He was released on his own recognizance and is due to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court June 6.
