Community to Promote Health, Raise Money for Lakeland, Yorktown Schools
The third annual HealthYorktown 5K Run/Walk will be held on Saturday, April 27 at FDR Park in Yorktown. Proceeds will go towards Yorktown and Lakeland schools.

The third annual "HealthYorktown" 5K Run/Walk and 1 Mile Fun Run will be held on Saturday, April 27 at F.D.R. Park in Yorktown where runners will bring health awareness to the community and raise money for the local school districts.
The event will be benefitting Yorktown's Foundation for Excellence in Yorktown Education and the Lakeland Education Foundation.
General registration begins at 7:30 a.m. and registration for the Walk Walk begins at 9:30 a.m. The 5K run starts at 9 a.m., followed by the walk at 9:05 a.m., the Fun Run at 10 a.m. The awards ceremony will be held at 10:30 a.m.

were young kids, community members, school teachers and principals. Some said the goal was to run the course the entire time without stopping and of course support their local school district.
