
A 23-year-old Brooklyn man is due in Yorktown Town Court today to answer a number of criminal charges after he was caught stealing more than $1,800 worth of items from the CVS, Yorktown police said.
Police said they received a report from a store personnel on May 26 at about 6:45 p.m. that a man had stolen items and run away.
The man – Antwan Armstead – was located nearby and found in possession of the items he had stolen from the CVS store located in the Triangle Shopping Center, police said. In addition, he was in possession of an altered New York State Identification Card.
Armstead was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny, fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property and second-degree possession of a forged instrument, all felonies.
He was transported to police headquarters where he was processed. He was then remanded to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $15,000. Armstead was scheduled to appear in court on May 28.
