
A 43-year-old Yorktown man is facing criminal charges for assaulting a woman at a Mahopac Avenue home during a domestic dispute, Yorktown police said.
Robert L. Russo was charged with criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation, third-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal mischief, misdemeanors.
Police said they received the domestic dispute call on June 22 at about 6:25 p.m. and revealed Russo had grabbed and choked the woman, causing her to sustain bruising and abrasions to her neck, arms, and hands. Police said the investigation also revealed that Russo had grabbed and thrown two phones when the female was attempting to call the police.
Russo was arrested at the scene and transported to police headquarters. He was served with a temporary order of protection and then released him. He was scheduled to appear in Yorktown Town Court on June 27.
