Cortlandt Man Accused Of Driving While Drunk In Yorktown

Police said the man was moving unsafely out of his lane.

YORKTOWN, NY — A Cortlandt Manor resident was accused of driving while drunk in Yorktown.

The Yorktown Police Department said Ryan Perrella, 32, of Cortlandt Manor, was charged Sunday with driving while intoxicated, first offense, a misdemeanor, and moved from lane unsafely, failed to use designated lane and uninspected motor vehicle, traffic infractions.

Police said, shortly after 2:30 a.m. Sunday, an officer on Route 6 said he saw a vehicle not staying in its lane of travel as well as moving from its lane unsafely.

A traffic stop determined Perrella was operating the car while intoxicated by alcohol and was driving an uninspected motor vehicle.

He was arrested and taken to police headquarters.

Perrella was issued uniform traffic tickets for the charges and released on his own recognizance to a responsible adult.

He is due to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court July 13.
