Cortlandt Manor Man Violates Protection Order: Police
Police said he was identified as a passenger in a car during a traffic stop.
YORKTOWN, NY — A Cortlandt Manor resident was arrested Wednesday after being accused of violating an order of protection.
The Yorktown Police Department said, around 3 p.m. Nov. 1, officers were conducting an unrelated investigation in the town of Yorktown when Albert Tapia, 30, of Cortlandt Manor, violated a stay-away provision of a duly served Westchester Family Court Order of Protection.
Tapia was a passenger in a car in an unrelated traffic stop, and he was identified and arrested and charged with second-degree criminal contempt, a misdemeanor.

He was taken to the Yorktown Police Department for processing.
Tapia was arraigned before a judge who issued a temporary order of protection.

He was released on his own recognizance to return Dec. 7 to the Yorktown Justice Court.
