Somers Lions Trail of Terror
The First Annual Somers Lions Club Trail of Terror will be held on Saturday, Oct. 5 and Sunday, Oct. 6 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at Reis Park. Bring a flashlight and be prepared to be scared. The event is not recommended for children under 6. Tickets for $5 are available at Somers Mobil and at Park Bench (concession at Reis Park). All proceeds will go to support the Somers Lions Club's charitable activities.Somers: Lions Club Fall Festival
The Somers Lions Club is holding its first annual Fall Festival on Sunday, Oct. 6 from noon to 6:30 p.m. at Reis Park. There will be a pumpkin patch, games, face painting, a bounce house, a DJ, food, a karate demonstration (from 1 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.), fire safety, petting zoo (from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.) and horse riding demonstration (4:30 p.m. 5:30 p.m).
Yorktown: Support-A-Walk for Cancer
Yorktown-based Support Connection's 19th Annual Support-A-Walk will be held this Sunday, Oct. 6 at Franklin D. Roosevelt State Park. Support Connection is a Yorktown based not-for-profit organization that offers a wide range of free programs and services to help women and others affected by breast and ovarian cancer. Its 3-mile Support-A-Walk, which was founded 19 years ago as a way to bring attention to their needs, is one of its biggest fundraisers. Read more here.Yorktown: Farmstand at Hilltop Hanover Farm
