Tuesday, July 13We had a preview for the Yorktown ice hockey team first annual golf outing and told you how you could donate money to the team. The Shrub Oak Cardinals went up against the Carmel Angels in a baseball game and we had the story and pictures. Westchester County was given another month to come up with a realistic plan and submit a revised implementation to distribute affordable housing in the region.

We had Panera Bread's press release about them donating bagels and cookies to a community charity June event at the FDR Park in Yorktown. Yorktown locals remembered the loss of Yankees Legendary owner George Steinbrenner who passed away on Tuesday of a massive heart attack. An armed man robbed a shoe store and we had the breaking news. We summarized what went on at the town board work session meeting, where several matters were discussed including improvements to the YCCC nutrition center.

School does not start for another month and a half, but some parents are starting their school shopping now, and we told you about the benefits of planning early.
Children's entertainer Jim McClenahan came to town to perform in front of a young audience eager to see magic and comedy at John C. Hart Library. Congressman John Hall and his republican challenger Nan Heyworth released their second- quarter numbers. By making a $100,000 personal loan, she led Hall with $744,985.70 cash on hand.
