A Yorktown resident, along with NBA stars, teaches youngsters all over Westchester how to play basketball. Read the story here. Our student writer had a movie review of "Grown Ups." The town board continued to have their summer outdoor meetings, and we had a link with directions to the historic colony and a tentative agenda schedule.
Tuesday July 20Two Lakeland/Panas ice hockey players were headed to the Empire State Games. Read the story about the Belger brothers here. In other sports stories, Lakeland's girls' lacrosse team beat Harrison 4-0. Several Northern Westchester town supervisors gathered to endorse Mary Beth Murphy for State Senate, Yorktown supervisor Susan Siegal remains neutral.

The Yorktown Leos beautified the town by helping with garden maintenance. Read the story and see the pictures here. Yorktown and Lakeland/Panas girls' lacrosse players got together on one team to compete in the prestigious Empire State Games. Thursday July 22The Senior Center received a five-passenger van through grant and donations and we had the story and pictures to show you. Lakeland's baseball player Jonathan de Marte wins Louisville Slugger State High School Player of the Year Award. Yorktown lacrosse player Justin Mabus commits to Towson University, where he will join a firmer Yorktown player John Fennessey.
