Elizabeth Butler 7th Annual Walk-A-Thon; KFM Masquerade Ball; Candlelight Vigil

1. Two YHS Students Receive Awards

2. Tickets Still Available for KFM Masquerade Ball

Tickets will be for sale for the The Kathleen F. Marks Memorial Foundation’s first annual masquerade ball until Friday. The fundraising event, takes place at the Colonial Terrace in Cortlandt Manor on Friday, Oct. 26. Proceeds from the event will benefit the pediatric oncology division at the Johns Hopkins Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center. A single ticket costs $130, while a pair will cost $250. A full table will cost $1,200.

3. Elizabeth Butler 7th Annual Walk-A-Thon

The walk was created to help raise awareness about teen domestic abuse in memory of Elizabeth Butler, a victim of dating violence. The walk is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 21 at 9 a.m. at the North Salem Lion’s Club. The day’s activities include an interactive safety demonstration by Tiger Schulmann’s Mixed Martial Arts, BBQ, music and more. 4. Domestic Violence Awareness Candlelight Vigil

In honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Temple Beth Am of Yorktown is hosting a Candlelight Vigil tonight at 6:30 p.m. at Town Hall. There will be live music, refreshments, candlelight procession, inspirational speakers, educational and artistic displays. For more information or to volunteer, please call (914) 736-1450.

5. Mostly Sunny, Overnight Showers Expected

According to the National Weather Service, Thursday is expected to be mostly sunny, with high temperatures near 63. Showers are likely after 3 a.m. Friday morning.
