Extended Registration Hours Set for Cancer Walk

The 18th annual Support-A-Walk will be held on Sunday, Oct. 7 in Yorktown.

, a not-for-profit organization offering free, confidential support services to people affected by breast and ovarian cancer, is extending its office hours to enable people to pre-register for the 18th Annual Support-A-Walk.

Extended registration hours for the Support-A-Walk are as follows: weekdays through Oct. 5, 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.; Sat., Sept. 29, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. Stop in during those hours with questions, to register, to make donations or to pick up tee shirts: Support Connection, 40 Triangle Center, Suite 100, Yorktown Heights.

Pre-registration is strongly recommended. In 2011, there were close to 10,000 participants the day of the Support-A-Walk. This year’s Walk will take place on Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012 (rain or shine) at FDR Park on Route 202 in Yorktown.

It is held to bring attention to the needs of people with breast and ovarian cancer, and to raise funds for Support Connection’s free support services for those living with these diseases.

All are welcome to participate in the Support-A-Walk. Families, friends, co-workers and teams of walkers are invited to walk together. Individuals are also welcome to participate. For those unable to attend, donations are accepted. People can also fundraise for the event without attending.
