Faulty Chimney Causes Fire at Ogden Drive in Yorktown
The homeowners were using the fireplace and a faulty chimney caused the fire, officials said.
Yorktown firefighters extinguished a chimney chase fire that had slightly spread into the master bedroom of a home on Ogden Drive Tuesday night, Yorktown Heights Fire Chief Chet Swirski told Patch.
When first responders arrived to the scene at 2831 Ogden Drive, there were flames coming out of the chinmey and they had burnt the inside of the house.
Swirski said the homeowners were using the fireplace and a faulty chimney caused the fire.

"It wasn't that big of a deal," Swirski said. "We put it out right away."
No one was injured.

There were no other damages to the house, other than the chimney and the master bedroom where part of the ceiling had to be taken out, Swirski said.
Firefighters were notified about the fire at about 7:12 p.m. and it took them 15 minuted to take it under control.
There were 25 firefighters who were at the scene, including Bedford Hill firefighters. Other responding agencies were Yorktown police, Yorktown Volunteer Ambulance Corps and Yorktown paramedics.
