Friday: Gas Shortage in Yorktown, Somers

As hundreds of Westchester County residents competed with out-of-towners looking to fill up their gas tanks on Thursday, the local stations with power found themselves quickly sold out.

In Yorktown, there is a slew of taped off gas pumps and overcrowding at the ones that remained open for business.

On Friday, the following gas stations in the center of town are out of gas and workers are not sure when they would be getting the next delivery – Shell (2001 Commerce Street); Courtesy Mobil (3205 Crompond Road); Autobahn (2034 Saw Mill River Road) ran out of gas late last night.

The Somers Mobil Mart, located at 291 Rt. 100, Somers, 914-277-8539, also ran out of gas around noon on Friday. An employee said he is expecting a delivery, but he was not sure when. 

The Mohegan Lake Mobil, 1770 East Main Street, Mohegan Lake, 914-743-1040 is also out of gas. A delivery is expected either later today or sometime tomorrow. 

Here are the gas stations that are selling gas, but running very low. If you know any other locations that are selling gas, please list them in the comments section below.

• BP Gasoline 3382, 1917 Commerce Street, Yorktown, 914-962-9286. Be prepared for a 45-minute wait. As of 12 p.m. an employee told Patch the gas station has enough supply before they run out of gas within the next hour and a half.
  
• Hilltop Service Station, 1530 East Main Street, Shrub Oak, (914) 528-5671. Running low on gas, expect 20-minute wait. 
• Sunoco gas station, 297-301 Route 100, Somers, 914-232-1418. But they're running low as well. As of 12:20 p.m. an employee said they have supply for another hour. Customers should be prepared to wait in line for at least 20-25 minutes. 
• BP Alltek Service Station: 2071 E Main St, Cortlandt Manor, 914-737-0704
• Hess: 3911 Crompond Rd, Cortlandt Manor, 914-788-6884
