Gas Prices On The Rise In New York In Spite Of Lower Demand
Analysts say there is also more gasoline in storage. How much are you paying at the pump to fill up your gas tank?

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Have you noticed gas prices going up where you are in the Hudson Valley?
While the national average of a gallon of regular gas — $3.68 — is 24 cents more than a month ago, it’s 43 cents less than a year ago, according to AAA.
According to new data from the Energy Information Administration, the demand for gas decreased from 8.94 million to 8.52 million barrels per day last week. Meanwhile, the total domestic gasoline stocks increased by only 1.3 million barrels of crude oil to 223.5 million barrels.

Analysts said that lower demand, alongside growth in stocks, would typically push prices at the pump down. However, the AAA said, elevated oil prices over the past month pushed them higher.
In New York, according to the AAA, the average price of regular gasoline is $3.68 Friday, which is up a penny from Thursday. It’s up from $3.44 a month ago, and down from $4.22 a year ago.
