Harckham, Slater Announce $4.1M Yorktown Road Project

The project stretches about 3 miles from the Taconic State Parkway to the Route 118 intersection in the commercial center of Yorktown.

YORKTOWN, NY — A $4.1 million road project is set to start in the town of Yorktown.

State Senator Pete Harckham, D-South Salem, and Assemblyman Matt Slater, R-Yorktown, announced Monday that state funds will pay for a resurfacing and paving project on Route 35/202 in Yorktown.

The project, which stretches about 3 miles from the Taconic State Parkway to the Route 118 intersection in the commercial center of Yorktown Heights, is part of a major $100 million road repair effort at 64 different locations totaling about 520 miles of lanes to renew well-trafficked roadways impacted by extreme weather.

Harckham said this was great news because the current condition of the road was unacceptable.

“Making these necessary improvements on this important area thoroughfare will benefit local residents and small businesses, as well as those traveling through the region,” he said.

“Ensuring the safety of motorists on our roads needs to remain a priority when it comes to infrastructure investments,” Harckham said, “and I will continue to fight for funding to help improve the conditions of our roadways.”

The Route 35/202 repaving project is expected to be completed by May. I will include an updating of curb ramps to ADA accessibility where possible.
