Yorktown Supervisor's Son Crashes Stolen Car, Arrested Following Pursuit in Yorktown and Cortlandt

Yorktown supervisor Michael Grace's is in trouble again following an early Friday morning police pursuit in the towns of Cortlandt and Yorktown.

At about 2:45 a.m. state police troopers attempted to stop a 2010 Toyota Scion on Route 6 in the town of Cortlandt for alleged traffic violations. The vehicle failed to stop and led troopers on a chase that continued through Cortlandt and into Yorktown, police said.

The vehicle crashed on East Main Street in Shrub Oak when the driver, Henry Grace, failed to negotiate a curve, police said.

He and his 15 year-old passenger, whose name police did not release because of his age, fled from the vehicle and were chased by police on foot. Both subjects were ultimately taken into custody. A check revealed the vehicle had been allegedly stolen earlier this morning from a Yorktown home, police said. 

Grace was charged with second-degree criminal possession of stolen property, second-degree criminal mischief, and second-degree escape, all felonies; as well as the misdemeanors of resisting arrest and endangering the welfare of a child.

He was also issued multiple traffic citations for violations of the state vehicle and traffic law. Additional charges are possible as the investigation continues. Grace was arraigned in the Cortlandt Town Court and remanded to Westchester County Jail without bail. He is due to appear next week in for further proceedings, police said. 

for allegedly stealing a vehicle from the Kohl's Department Store parking lot in Cortlandt and driving it while his ability was impaired by drugs.

Grace's underage passenger was charged with one count of third-degree criminal possession of stolen property, and will be required to appear in Westchester County Family Court in the near future. The teen was released to a family member.
