Illegal Treats: Yorktown Cites Man for Selling Ice Cream without License

An 18-year-old Yonkers teen who was selling ice cream in the area of Yorktown High School last week will be back in town again next month, but for a different reason.
He was scheduled to appear in Yorktown Town Court on Oct. 2 to answer charges that he allegedly sold ice cream without having the required license, police said.
Police conducting a compliance check of an ice cream truck vendor in Yorktown revealed the teen was allegedly selling the ice cream without a license on Thursday, Sept. 20 at about 2:40 p.m. in the Route 202 commuter lot.

The commuter lot is conveniently located by Yorktown High School and it's the spot where many students park before school.
The teen, whose name police did not release because of his eligibility for youthful offender status, was charged with peddling without a license, a town code violation.

He was issued an appearance ticket and released on his own recognizance.
