Jeep Crashes Into Yorktown Heights Restaurant

No injuries were reported when the vehicle crashed through a wall of the eatery Thursday.

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, NY — A Jeep crashed through the wall of a Yorktown Heights restaurant Thursday.

The Yorktown Height Volunteer Fire Department said more than two dozen firefighters were sent to Pappous Greek Kitchen on Commerce Street in Yorktown Heights shortly after 3 p.m. Thursday for after a Jeep crashed into it.

Fire officials said the Jeep jumped a curb, went down an embankment and went through the wall of the restaurant.

No injuries were reported, according to authorities.

Firefighters evacuated the building, secured the Jeep and the building’s utilities and checked the structural integrity of the building.

The fire department’s units stood by and assisted with the removal of the vehicle and then rechecked the building for additional structural damage.

The scene was eventually turned over to the Town of Yorktown Building Department.
