Love In Action Fundraiser; Arbor Day Poster Contest; SEPTA Meeting
Here are five things you need to know today, April 16.

1. Love In Action Augie's Fundraiser
Yorktown's charity organization Love in Action is holding a fundraiser at Augie's Prime Cut restaurant in Mohegan Lake on April 16, 17, 22, 23, 24 from 4 p.m. until closing. Augie's will give 10 percent of your entire bill to the charity.
Coupon must be presented to your food server before you pay your bill. Not to be combined with any other coupons, specials or promotions. You can print out the coupon here or pick up a coupon at the Donation Center at 3565 Crompond Road in Cortlandt Manor.

2. Last Day to Submit Arbor Day Poster Contest Entries

3. Special Education PTA Meeting
Yorktown's SEPTA is sponsoring an evening tonight at 7 p.m. at the Yorktown High School library with developmental pediatrician Dr. Stephen Cowan as he discusses his new book, Fire Child Water Child: How Understanding the Five Types of ADHD Can Help You Improve Your Child’s Self-Esteem and Attention.
He will offer practical activities that parents and teachers can use to help each child develop calm focus by transforming his or her innate abilities. Nutrition, medication and supplements will also be discussed. For more info, please visit the SEPTA website. (This was rescheduled from Nov. 27 due to inclement weather).

5. Warm Weather Today
The National Weather Service is predicting a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m. today. But the chance of precipitation is 20 percent. It is expected to be mostly cloudy, with a high near 64.
