Mahopac Man Accused Of DWI In Yorktown

Police said an officer saw the man weaving in traffic, going over the white fog line and the double yellow line.

YORKTOWN, NY — A Mahopac man was accused of drinking and driving in Yorktown.

The Yorktown Police Department said Andrew M. DiDonato, 32, of Mahopac, was charged Saturday with driving while intoxicated, first offense and operate a motor vehicle with blood alcohol content of 0.08 percent or more, first offense, misdemeanors, and failed to obey traffic control device and failed to use designated lane, traffic infractions.

Shortly before 2 a.m. Saturday, an officer on patrol on Gomer Street said he saw a car traveling north that was crossing the white fog line and double yellow line numerous times.

The officer initiated a traffic stop and identified the driver as DiDonato.

After an investigation at the scene, the officer said it was determined DiDonato was driving while intoxicated.

He was arrested and taken to the Yorktown Police Headquarters for processing, where he was found to be driving with a blood alcohol content of 0.08 percent or more.

DiDonato was issued uniform traffic tickets and released on his own recognizance to a responsible party.

He is due to appear in Yorktown Justice Court May 4.
