Mahopac Men Accused Of Stealing From Macy's

Police said the men fled on foot and were eventually found at a golf course.

YORKTOWN, NY — Two Mahopac men were arrested after being accused of stealing merchandise from Macy’s.

The Yorktown Police Department said Dato Arkhoshashvili, 48, and Tamaz Khuroshvili, 28, both from Mahopac, were arrested Tuesday and charged with third-degree robbery, a felony.

Police said officers were sent to Macy’s for a report of larceny where two men fled on foot.

After arriving and interviewing a witness, the officers determined the two men used physical force, knocking down someone, to keep the stolen merchandise before leaving the area on foot.

Other responding officers were notified of the suspects’ physical descriptions and clothing.

A short time later, two men matching the descriptions were found inside the Tee Bar Grille at the Links at Valley Fields Golf Course.

They were detained for investigation and identified by the witness as the same pair that stole the merchandise from Macy’s and knocked him down.

The two men were placed under arrest and taken to the Yorktown Police Department.

After processing, the men were arraigned and released on their own recognizance.

They are due to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court Sept. 5.
