Man Stopped for Speeding, Charged with DWI

The following information was provided by the Yorktown Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A 43-year-old Mahopac faces charges that he allegedly drove drunk, said. 

Richard E. Porrazzo who stopped by police on May 25 at about 2:09 a.m. after police allegedly observed him speeding on Rt. 6 near Curry St. A traffic stop was initiated and police revealed the man was allegedly driving while intoxicated. 

Porrazzo was transported to police headquarters for processing where he was submitted to a chemical test to determine his blood alcohol content. Allegedly it was .08 percent or higher, police said.

The defendant was charged with DWI, driving with a blood alcohol level of .08 percent or more, misdemeanors, as well as speeding, a traffic infraction.

Porrazzo was released on $200 bail to a family member. He was scheduled to appear in Yorktown Town Court on June 26.
