Man Violates Protection Order By Showing Up At Victim's Workplace: PD

Police said he was unable to make bail.

YORKTOWN, NY — A Yorktown man was accused of violating an order of protection.

The Yorktown Police Department said Michael A. Portella, 21, of Yorktown Heights, was charged Sunday with second-degree criminal contempt, a misdemeanor.

Around 10 p.m. Sunday, officers were sent to a Crompond Road address for a report of a temporary order of protection violation.

An investigation found he violated the order by showing up at the victim's workplace, police said.

Portella was arrested and taken to police headquarters for processing.

Afterward, he was arraigned in the Yorktown Justice Court where bail was set at $10,000 bail or $50,000 bond.

Police said he was unable to make bail and was transferred to the custody of the Westchester County Department of Corrections.

Portella is scheduled to return to court May 24.
