Marie E. Granata, of Jefferson Village, Dies at 102

Marie E. Granata, of Jefferson Village, died on Aug. 20. She was 102 years old.

Granata was born one of eleven children on July 23, 1911 in New Rochelle to the  late Nicholas and Felicity (Tinto) Vaccaro. She was predeceased by her loving husband Gene whom she married on Jan. 17, 1932, her son John Granata, and her son-in-law Robert Calabrese, and her 10 siblings.

She is survived by her loving daughter Barbara Calabrese and daughter-in-law Loy Granata, six grandchildren; Robert, Steven, and David Calabrese, and Nan Crocker, Jonna Granata, and Jayne Murphy, and 11 great grandchildren.

Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, Aug. 22 at 11:15 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church. Interment followed at Rosehill Memorial Park Cemetery.
