'Miles for Medals' Walk for Special Olympics Comes to Yorktown
The walk, which is dedicated in memory of Richard Bouman, will be held on Sunday, April 28 at Franklin D. Roosevelt State Park in Yorktown. The money raised will benefit local programs.
Hundreds of people are invited to walk at the 8th Annual Miles for Medals walk, which was renamed last year to Vincent Miritello Miles for Medals Walk, for Special Olympics at Franklin D. Roosevelt State Park in Yorktown.
The walk, which is dedicated in memory of Richard Bouman, will be held on Sunday, April 28. You can register the day and there is a suggested donation of $25. Registration begins at 9 a.m. and the walk starts at 10 a.m.
Vincent Miritello Miles for Medals Walk is a 2-mile walk with beautiful scenery that will benefit the Hudson Valley Special Olympics.

"You get to walk with a great group of individuals including some of our athletes who also raise money for the walk," organizer Paula Miritello said.
Meridith Cullen, star on “My Big Gay Italian Wedding” on Broadway and a Carnegie Hall singer will be singing at the walk. Afterwards there will be a BBQ, magician, cupcake decorating, raffles, pony rides, a face painter, DJ and fire trucks.

"Step up and get ready to walk to benefit a great group of individuals with great big hearts," Miritello said. "Bring your energy, passion and humor to this wonderful event. So, it will be a day full of fun and excitement."
All money raised at the Miles for Medals Walk at FDR Park will benefit local programs.
