Mohegan Lake Man, 21, Strikes Tree with Vehicle, Charged with DWI

A 21-year-old Mohegan Lake man is accused of driving drunk after his vehicle went off the roadway and struck a tree, said.
Police said they were dispatched on May 27 at about 2:59 a.m. to a single-vehicle property damage car accident on Crompond Road in the area of Routes 35 and 118. Investigation revealed the defendant, Mateusz Kociuba, allegedly drove his vehicle while he was intoxicated, police said.
Kociuba was charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor as well as failing to use designated lane, a traffic infraction.

He was released to a friend on $200 cash bail and was scheduled to appear at Yorktown Town Court on June 26.
