Mohegan Lake Teen, 13, Threatens Family Member with Two Kitchen Knives

A 13-year-old Mohegan Lake boy is accused of threatening a family member with two kitchen knives during a domestic dispute, said. 

The kid, whose name is being withheld due to his eligibility for youthful offender status, was charged with juvenile delinquency on Monday after police received a domestic disturbance report at about 12:05 a.m. 

Police did not identify what family member the teen allegedly threatened with the two kitchen knives. Had the teen been older, he would have been charged with third-degree menacing and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, both misdemeanors.

The teen was processed and transported to the Woodfield Cottage Juvenile Detention Center. He is scheduled to appear in Family Court on June 4. 

In late April, an 11-year-old Jefferson Valley girl was . She too was sent to the Woodfield Cottage Juvenile detention facility before she appeared at the Westchester Family Court on April 20.
