Mother's Day Serenade, Weekend Events in Yorktown, Destination Imagination Fundraisers

1. Destination Imagination Fundraisers

The following are fundraisers for Yorktown's Destination Imagination. 

• May 12 – Community Day- at FDR State Park. Prize raffle and "Cake Walk" (a take-off on musical chairs where cakes are the prizes!) 
• May 20 – Bowling night at Jefferson Valley Lanes from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
• May 11 – Mother's Day Flower Sale - in Mohansic, Brookside, Crompond and MESMS- flowers distributed Friday, May 11.  Order as many as you like! 

2. Lots Happening in Yorktown This Weekend

There are plenty of events going on this weekend in Yorktown and the area – including the annual Community Day. for a full list of weekend events. 

3. Mother's Day Serenade

Yorktown Jewelers is having a Mother's Day Serenade on Saturday, May 12 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. with music by Chasing Sunday. Champagne will be served with purchase. The jewelry store will donate 10 percent of all sales to Alliance for Safe Kids.

4. Free Mother's Day Brunch

Sen. Greg Ball (Patterson – R, C) will be hosting a on May 12 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Muriel H. Morabito Community Center (29 Westbrook Drive in Cortlandt Manor).

5. The Sun Somes Out

According to the National Weather Service, the weather is expected to be warm and suny this weekend. Friday will be sunny, with a high near 66. Temperatures could reach a hig of 71 on Saturday. Sunday is expected to be partly sunny with a high near 73, but a small chance of showers after noon
