New Plan Presented for Holland Sporting Club in Mohegan Lake [VIDEO]
The plans includes a children's playground, basketball and volleyball courts, tennis courts and a new parking lot.
Members of the Yorktown Park and Recreation department and Yorktown residents working on a new plan at the former Holland Sporting Club presented their plan at the Yorktown town board meeting Tuesday night.
Patrick Cumiskey, a construction project manager and a father of three children, who lives across the street from the property, created the plan with the help of other community members.
The proposed attractions include a children's playground, basketball/mixed use and volleyball courts, boat launch area, access to the lake, tennis courts and a new parking lot, as well as a picnic area and a walking trial around the entire area.

The Holland Sporting Club, which the town demolished last summer, was once an exclusive posh summer resort and weekend getaway. The 14-acre lakeside property on Mohegan Lake, located on a heavily wooded parcel of land, was subject to vandalism over the years.
The Club dates back to the 1920s, when the property had a hotel, cottages and two clay tennis courts, according to records, on 1,000 feet of lake frontage. In 1915 the property was a resort for the wealthy, called Rock Hill Lodge, and eventually it became one of the last resort hotels in Westchester, housing more than 250 vacationers.
