
There will be no kitchen refuse or recycling collections on Independence Day, Thursday, July 4, according to the town of Yorktown officials.
- “Monday & Thursday” kitchen refuse collections will be on Monday and Wednesday, July 3
- “Tuesday & Friday” kitchen refuse collections will be on Tuesday and Friday (there is no change)
- Recycling for Sections 2 and 3 will be on Wednesday, July 3
- There is no change for recycling collections in Sections 1, 4, 5, 6, 7
In addition, “E-Waste Disposal Days” will be available on Tuesday, July 2 and Friday, July 5 at the Refuse and Recycling Department, located at 2279 Crompond Road (behind the police department and courthouse).
"Yorktown residents can bring their obsolete computers, monitors, keyboards, printers, and TVs, for free and environmentally correct disposal from 7:30 a.m. to 2:45 p.m.," said Kim Angliss-Gage, the town's recycling coordinator.
