No Trash or Recycling Collection in Yorktown on Columbus Day

The collection schedule has been revised because of the Oct. 14 holiday.

The town of Yorktown offices will be closed on Monday, Oct. 14 for Columbus Day. The waste collection has changed as follows: 

There will be no trash or recycling collections that day. 

Therefore the "Monday and Thursday" kitchen refuse will be picked up on Tuesday, Oct. 15 and Thursday, Oct. 17. The "Tuesday and Friday" collections will be on
Wednesday, Oct. 16 and Friday, Oct. 18.

Sections 1 and 7 will have their recycling picked up on Tuesday, Oct. 15 and Section 6 will be on Wednesday, Oct. 16.

For the Columbus Day weekend, the Organic Yard Waste Facility, on Greenwood Street, will be closed on Saturday, Oct. 12 and Monday, Oct. 14.

Yorktown residents can bring their obsolete computers, monitors, keyboards, printers and TVs to the Refuse & Recycling site (behind the Police Station) between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 2:45 for free E-Waste Disposal Days on Tuesday, Oct. 15 and Friday, Oct. 18.
