NYC Man Accused Of Stealing Cooking Oil From Yorktown Eatery

Police said the theft occurred in October, but the man turned himself this month.

YORKTOWN, NY — A New York City man was accused of stealing cooking oil from a Yorktown restaurant.

The Yorktown Police Department said Osiris Cabral Frias, 19, of New York City was charged with petit larceny, a misdemeanor.

Police said, shortly after 6 p.m. Oct. 14, officers responded to Little Sorrento located at 3565 Crompond Road for a report of cooking oil being stolen from the restaurant.

An investigation identified Frias as the person who stole $100 worth of cooking oil from the restaurant’s storage container.

Around 4 p.m. Saturday, he went to the Yorktown Police Department where he was arrested.

After processing, Frias was issued an appearance ticket and was released on his own recognizance.

He is next scheduled to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court Dec. 8.
