Orange County Man Accused Of Violating Order Of Protection

YORKTOWN, NY — An Orange County man being held in custody in Monroe was accused of violating an order or protection in Yorktown.

The Yorktown Police Department said officers received a call from a Yorktown residence about a domestic incident on Sept. 22.

An investigation found that Jared R. Wilmot, 38, of Monroe, violated a duly served Westchester County Family Court order of protection by texting a threat to the victim, police said.

Officers were not able to locate Wilmot initially and the Yorktown Justice Court issued an arrest warrant.

Around 9 a.m. May 10, Yorktown police were notified by the Monroe Police Department that they had Wilmot in custody.

Yorktown police took the Monroe resident into custody, and he was charged with second-degree criminal contempt and second-degree aggravated harassment, misdemeanors.

Wilmot was arraigned in Yorktown Justice Court and released after he posted $1,000 bail.

He is scheduled to return to court Tuesday.
