June 25

8:01 a.m. Police responded to a call of a broken window overnight in the service building located to the left of Sparkle Lake, 178 Granite Springs Rd.

9:50 a.m. Police responded to a call of a suspicious vehicle near Mohegan Avenue in Mohegan Lake. The man inside the small beige car was reportedly sleeping. Upon investigation, it was determined his wife was cleaning houses in the surrounding area and they would move the vehicle.

10:20 a.m. Officer Richard Finn responded to a call at Quinlan Street from a man who found an old firearm in his diseased mother's attic. He turned it over to police headquarters so they could destroy it. Police say they will turn over the weapon to the county.

11:01 a.m. Traffic light malfunction was reported at Rt. 6 and Mountain Brook Drive. Two red bulbs were out and NYSDOT was advised.

12:16 p.m. Police received a call about a loose dog, which was transported to the Briacliff Manor animal shelter.

3:40 p.m. Police received a call about a Strawberry Road woman who left the Hudson Valley Hospital with an I.V. in her arm. She needed assistance to the hospital to have it removed.

4:03 p.m. Police responded to a violation of harassment call. A report came in about a female who was assaulted at Mercy College 2655 Strang Blvd. The argument between two females escalated from parking dispute. An investigation is ongoing, and an arrest is pending.

7:42 p.m. A woman reported that a vehicle ran a stop sign at Front Street and Moseman Rd and almost struck her children. The vehicle was gone upon police arrival. The plate info the woman provided was incorrect.

10:49 p.m. Police received reports of fireworks being shot off at Cranberry Lane. Other fireworks calls included Deerhaunt Street and Somerston Road.

June 26

6:15 p.m. Police arrested 37-year-old Janelle Campbell, of the Bronx, for stealing $79.99 worth of merchandise from a display at Sears. She is charged with petit larceny, a class "A" misdemeanor. The defendant was taken into custody and transported to headquarters for processing. She was remanded to Westchester County jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail and appeared in court on June 29 at 9 a.m.

6:15 p.m. Police arrest 30-year-old Michael V. Saccente, of Mohegan Lake, accused of hooking up a hose to a fire hydrant to fill up his pool. He was charged with theft of services, a class "A" misdemeanor. It is alleged the defendant later threatened a witness to the incident if they contacted police about the crime. Saccente was released without bail and is due in Town Court on July 15.

June 27

12:35 a.m. Police received a call about a burglary from Florida Road residency. There was no evidence of a forced entry and no one was home at the time. Residents report a stolen computer, XBox and digital camera.

9:01 Police received a 911 hung up from an Arch Drive residency. Police report a child was playing with the phone.

11:01 Police received a call from Downing Park, 2881 Crompond Road, about a 48-year-old male on the softball field with a head injury. The subject was transported to Northern Westchester Hospital via the Yorktown Volunteer Ambulance Corps.

4:20 p.m. Police responded to a call that someone pitched a tent at the Yorktown Community and Cultural Center, 1974 Commerce Street and is selling out of it. A local bakery had bought a $500 yearly permit from the town and was selling baked goods on Veterans Road, police said.

4:55 p.m. Two kids were caught with a can of lighter fluid behind the Valley Market store on 400 East Main Street. The two youths were detained. 

6:23 p.m. A Mill Street resident reported to police that there were numerous bats in her house. Police advised her to contact commercial animal company.

9:48 p.m. A woman reported her radio was stolen from her car while she was in Dunkin Donuts, at 374 Downing Drive.

June 28

6:59 p.m. Police responded to a call of a raccoon walking in the neighbor's yard at Bound Brook Lane and the animal was stumbling.

8:30 p.m. Police received a report from a Broad Street resident that someone used her credit card without authorization and purchased a tattoo at a tattoo parlor in New Jersey and bought airline tickets through American airlines.

June 29

3:04 a.m. Two police officers were dispatched at TD Bank, 3660 Lee Road, about an activated burglary alarm coming from the lounge area motion detector. The bank appeared to be secure.

7:27 a.m. Police received a 911 hang up from a Parmly Road residence. When they called back, the woman stated that her boyfriend hit her. She did not need medical help and the suspect left the area prior to police arrival.

8:53 p.m. Police received a call about an unknown subject who put ketchup and mustard all over a Farm Walk Road resident's vehicle in his driveway.

2:11 p.m. Police received a call about youths walking over the trestle at the reservoir on the North County Trailway. They were wearing bathing suits and were carrying towels. The caller believed they would be swimming, which is illegal. The subjects were gone upon police arrival.

2:49 p.m. Police received reports of graffiti to a building on Mohegan Avenue, in Mohegan Lake. After a maintenance man had painted the building, he saw graffiti. The man painted it over for the second time, only to find the graffiti again.

5:38 p.m. Police received a call of a stolen bike at the Triangle Shopping Center, 2051 Saw Mill River Road.

8:58 p.m. Police received a report from a concerned husband, a resident at Horne Circle. He received text messages from his wife saying that she wanted to harm herself and she couldn't take it anymore. The woman was transported to the Crisis Unit. 

June 30

11:59 a.m. Police responded to a call at Town Hall, 363 Underhill Avenue, about a possible electrical fire in the conference room.  The ballast in a light bulb, which smokes when it goes bad, might have set off the fire alarm. Everything was fine. 

1:01 p.m. A Fieldstone Court resident reported to police a suspicious vehicle in her driveway occupied by three subjects. When one male got out and walked toward the residence, her dog came around the side of the house and scared away the subject who got back to the car.

6:44 p.m. Police received a call from a male who reported his credit cards have been used since he lost his wallet at the CVS, on 2000 Commerce Street.

8:20 p.m. Police responded to a call about marijuana possession at 2013 Crompond Road. Two people were taken into custody for unlawful possession of marijuana and possibly of a forged instrument.

July 1

7:01 a.m. Police responded to a call from a local resident about a burglary in Mohegan Lake at Nappoli's Pizza, located by the Mohegan Lake Diner. There were cigarettes and small amount of cash stolen.  The store has no alarms, or security cameras. 

9:18 a.m. Police responded to a motor vehicle accident between Stoney Street and the Bear Mountain Parkway extension, by BJs plaza. Two people were transported to the Hudson Valley Hospital. One of the passenger vehicles had extensive damage, and the two cars were towed.
