Police: Man Charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Credit Card

The following information was provided by the Yorktown Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A 24-year-old Yonkers man, who was arrested when  responded to a call that a suspicious man was attempting to enter parked vehicles, faces an additional charge of being in possession of a stolen credit card.

Nadeem H. Abualteen was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, a felony, on May 15 when he voluntarily appeared at police headquarters at about 6:45 p.m.

The arrest stems from a Jan. 12, 2012, incident when police responded to the Staples Plaza on a suspicious person call. Investigation revealed Abualteen was allegedly in possession of a stolen driver’s license and stolen credit card. At that time, he was remanded to the Westchester County Jail on $5,000 bail.

However, further investigation revealed the defendant allegedly was also in possession of another stolen credit card that day.

After his May 15 arrest, Abualteen was released on his own recognizance and was scheduled to appear in Yorktown Town Court on May 15 at 6 p.m.
