Police: Man Fails to License Dog; Woman Drives with no License, Suspended Registration

A 22-year-old Mohegan Lake man has been issued summons for failure to license his dog, a violation, Yorktown police said.

Police said they received multiple calls on Sept. 22 at about 12:05 a.m. about a dog barking for an extended period of time in the area of Florida Road. Investigation revealed the dog beloged to the Mohegan Lake man, who had failed to license the dog, police said.

The man was scheduled to appear in Yorktown Town Court on Nov. 13.

A 27-year-old Jefferson Valley woman faces a number of charges – including driving with a suspended registration, no license, and uninsured motor vehicle, Yorktown police said. 

Briggitte Bonilla was stopped by police, equipped with the ELSAG license plate reader, on Oct. 17 because the plate reader “hit" on license plates that were allegedly suspended, police said. 

A DMV check showed the license plates had been suspended for insurance lapse, while the woman's license was suspended for not paying a DMV fee and answer a summons, police said. 

Bonilla was charged with suspended registration and aggravated unlicensed operation, misdemeanors; operating without insurance, a violation.

Bonilla was released on $200 cash bail and scheduled to appear in 
Yorktown Town Court on Nov. 20.
