Police: Three Men Drag Victim Out of Taxi, Beat and Rob Him in Yorktown

Two Jefferson Valley men and a Mahopac man were due in Thursday night to answer charges that they allegedly dragged a man out of a taxi, beat and robbed him, said. 

Rene DeJesus Lopez, 42, Sesar Agusto Martinez, 30, both from Jefferson Valley and Cesar David Calderon, 25, of Mahopac, were charged with second-degree robbery, a felony. 

The defendants were arrested on Sunday, June 10, and have since been held at the Westchester County Jail without bail.

Police began their investigation at about 4:30 a.m. when they responded to a report that a man was being assaulted at 400 East Main Street in Jefferson Valley. The victim had left the scene prior to police arrival, but he filed a complaint at headquarters later that day. 

The three defendants are accused of dragging the victim out of a taxi, beating him, stealing his cell phone and $640 in cash.

Lopez, Martinez and Calderon are scheduled to appear in Yorktown Town Court on June 12 at 6 p.m.
