Police: Yorktown, Katonah Teens Accused of Vandalism at A&P Shopping Center

Two 16-year-old teens are due in court later this month to answer felony charges after they allegedly vandalized several areas of the A&P shopping center in Yorktown, said today.
The Katonah teen was charged with four counts of third-degree criminal mischief, and the Yorktown teen was charged with two counts of third-degree criminal mischief, felonies.
Yorktown police officer Rapisarda was on routine patrol in the area on May 25 when he observed freshly painted graffiti on a trailer in the rear of the A&P Supermarket and allegedly observed the two boys nearby "acting suspiciously." Further investigation revealed several areas of the shopping center as well as a CAT front loader had been vandalized with graffiti tags.

Both defendants were allegedly found to be in possession of numerous
cans of spray paint, police said. They were arrested at the scene and transported to police headquarters for processing.
In addition, the Katonah teen was also allegedly responsible for vandalizing the rear of K-Mart and an A&P trailer on two other separate dates leading to two additional counts of criminal mischief.

The teens were released on their own recognizance and are scheduled to appear in Yorktown Town Court on June 26.
