Police: Yorktown Man Allegedly Drove Drunk, Found in Possession of Cocaine

A 40-year-old Yorktown man is accused of driving drunk, having an open container of alcohol in his vehicle and being in possession of cocaine, police said. 

Derrick W. Ruprecht was stopped on May 20 by New York State Police in Somers for failing to dim his high-beam headlights for oncoming traffic on Route 35.

He was allegedly found to be driving drunk, had an open container of alcohol in his vehicle and was allegedly in possession of cocaine. He also allegedly refused to submit to a chemical test.

Ruprecht was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and driving while intoxicated. 

He was scheduled to appear in the town of Bedford Court on May 31.
