Putnam Man Accused Of Driving With Suspended License

A police officer said he spotted a speeding car on the Taconic State Parkway.

YORKTOWN, NY — A Putnam County resident was accused of driving without a valid license in Yorktown.

The Yorktown Police Department said John Fardella, 44, of Mahopac, was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, a misdemeanor, and speed not reasonable or prudent and other traffic infractions.

Police said, shortly after 5 p.m. Tuesday, an officer on the Taconic State Parkway said he saw a car that was speeding.

After stopping the car, the officer found Fardella, who was the driver, had a suspended license. He also committed multiple other traffic infractions.

He was arrested, issued traffic tickets and released on his own recognizance.

Fardella is scheduled to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court May 24.
