Putnam-Northern Westchester BOCES Chooses New Superintendent
The new leaders will replace Dr. James Ryan, who is retiring this year.
YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, NY — A new superintendent for the Putnam-Northern Westchester BOCES.
The board chose Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources Neil Boyle to the district superintendent and chief executive officer for the organization.
He will replace Dr. James Ryan, who is retiring this year, according to a spokesperson.

Before he was assistant superintendent for HR at BOCES, Boyle served as coordinator of pupil personnel services for the North Salem Central School District. Prior to that, he was coordinator of the Putnam-Northern Westchester BOCIES Guidance and Child Study Center.
BOCES Board President Richard Kreps said Boyle’s selection is in keeping with the board’s goal of recruiting, training and retaining quality staff.

“Neil has proven to be an outstanding administrator,” he said. “We looked at a lot of excellent candidates, but cream always rises to the top.”
Boyle said it will be an honor to serve BOCES in this new job.
“Having worked in our component districts, I witnessed the excellence that comes from BNW BOCES’ programs,” he said.
Boyle is the president of the Lower Hudson Council for School Personnel Administrators and served on the steering committee of the Hudson Valley Regional Bilingual Education Resource Network
He is an advisory board member of the Foundation for Empowering Citizens with Autism and won a lifetime achievement award from the Foundation for Educating Children with Autism.
